Pay bills online

Yes, there are multiple ways to pay your bills online with PayPal. You can link, pay, and manage your bills from the PayPal app or PayPal.com. Some biller websites allow you to pay with PayPal directly from their site by choosing PayPal during checkout. If you are enrolled in PayPal Direct Deposit, you can set up PayPal Direct Debit to make bill payments on other sites using your PayPal balance routing and account numbers.

From the PayPal.com website:

1. Go to your Dashboard
2. Click More near the top right of the screen
3. Click Pay your bills
4. Click Pay next to the biller's name
5. Review the bill details and click Pay
6. If prompted, enter the payment amount, and click Next
7. Select your payment method and payment date
8. Click Send Payment or Schedule Payment for a future payment

On the PayPal app:

1. Tap Payments
2. Tap Bills
3. Tap the bill you want to pay
4. Tap Pay

If you’re enrolled in PayPal Direct Deposit, you can set up PayPal Direct Debit to make one-time and recurring bill payments using your PayPal balance. Direct Debit payments occur over the ACH network using your assigned routing and account numbers. Learn more about PayPal Direct Debit.

Here’s how to enable Direct Debit payments from PayPal.com or the PayPal app:

1. Log in to PayPal
2. Select Direct Deposit in your profile
3. In the Direct Debit settings selection, turn on the toggle next to Enable payments

To set up a payment, provide your assigned routing and account numbers when the merchant or service provider prompts you for a bank account. Here’s how to find your routing and account numbers:

1. Log in to PayPal
2. Select Direct Deposit in your profile
3. There you will find your routing and account numbers

When you pay your bill with a different payment method other than PayPal, it can take some time to reach our system. Once your payment posts in the PayPal network, the bill will show as "paid" and you can disregard the overdue notice.

Depending on your biller, your payment may not post until after it’s due even if you pay on PayPal before the due date.

For best results, pay your bill more than five days prior to the due date. If you do see late fees, you can sometimes request a correction or a late fee refund. Contact your biller for details about late fees.

Purchases made with PayPal can be split right from the PayPal app. Click on your payment from your Activity or Bills hub to view payment details. Select "Split this payment with others" to split the expense with other people. From there, you can select the people you want to split the expense with. We'll automatically calculate the amount each person owes (with options to adjust each share) and send a payment request their way.

For payments not made with PayPal, select "Split the bill" from the App menu or Send and Request hub and enter the expense amount.
