How do I confirm my identity? (CIP)

What CIP methods are available for business accounts?

Individual Sellers (non-registered businesses): Singpass (Myinfo), and manual document uploading

Registered businesses: Manual document uploading only

When is my account required to go through CIP?

You may be asked to verify your PayPal account when a specific threshold is met, based on your account activity. Verifying your account will lift restrictions and help make PayPal safer for everyone.

What is MyInfo/Singpass, and how do I use Singpass for CIP?

For more information on using Singpass for CIP, please refer to 'What is the MyInfo/Singpass CIP Verification Process?'

Proof of Identity with legal name and date of birth indicated.

How do I upload files using my PayPal account for CIP?

During self-onboarding, you could follow the steps on PayPal to upload the required document(s).

Alternatively, you could also contact our Customer Support to generate a secure link unique to your account.

That secure link will normally be sent via email or messaging during your interaction with our Support Teams.

It can only be used for that singular interaction. A new link will need to be generated if you need assistance uploading documentation to your account in the future.

How long will it take to review my documents?

We will review your documents within three business days, but please note that this timeframe may be extended in some cases.

What if I’ve already uploaded the documents for my other PayPal account?

We need you to upload documents separately for each PayPal account.
